New RAID enclosures from RAIDON - for 2 and 4 HDDs - with USB 3.0, FireWire 800, eSATA

(1) Connect

With the Raidon GR3630-WSB3 external data transmission comes in three (!) flavours: USB 3.0, Firewire 800, and eSATA. That?s the most complicated stuff at the beginning.

USB 3.0 is the fastest and most universal connection. With a partner capable of USB 3.0 it is up to 5 GBit/s fast, theoretically. As it is downward compatible it also works together with USB 2.0 plugs, motherboards etc., but only in USB 2.0 speed. FireWire 800 (1394b) is usually the fastest connection to a Mac. Moreover, you can use it to build daisy chains

of several HDDs. eSATA often is a fast connection to NAS devices and PCs.

Make your choice. Put in HDDs. Switch on.

(2) Set adjustments

Formatting. When this is done the drive-icon will appear on the screen. GR3630-WSB3 cooperates with the Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Chose RAID level. RAID 1 is set by default. That means all data are mirrored from HDD A to HDD B. Chose RAID 0 and you have the maximum storage capacity plus faster processing. More features contributing to simplicity. Built-in power supply. Optical and acoustic alert in the case of HDD failure, fan failure or overheating. Auto-rebuild. Hot swappable tray module provides HDD for easy installation.

(3) Forget

That way you can work for months and years. As there also is this really imperturbable reliability of a RAIDON RAID enclosure.

Even as it is not really brand new we shortly have to mention the also new RAIDON RAID enclosure GR5630-WSB3. It follows the same philosophy of simplicity. It is made for four HDDs. RAID 5 is set by default and this is without alternative. All other features are like those of the GR3630-WSB3.
