TAIPEI, TAIWAN (July 19th, 2012) Acer is a Worldwide Partner of the Olympic Movement in the official computing equipment product category for the London 2012 Olympic Games, commencing on the 27th of July.
To support the 2012 Olympic Games, Acer has mobilized 350 staff members. The equipment provided comprises 13,500 desktops; 2,900 notebooks; 950 servers and storage systems; 13,000 computer monitors; and a number of tablet PCs. These resources will run the entire information system for the event, including games management, competition scores, reception, information queries, broadcast support, and more.

Wong adds, Acer proved its capability when we successfully handled the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Acers servers, storage solutions and PCs, along with all Olympic Games partners technologies and services, form an enormous IT infrastructure that will meet the requirements of the Olympic Games. Acers equipment will be deployed across the event's data and media centers, and the itinerary for each athlete will also be managed via Acers machines.
