TXT e-solutions appointed by the Italcogim Group

TXT e-solutions, leader in the design and implementation of software products for the supply chain and for the customer relationship (SC&CM Supply Chain e Customer Management), and the Italcogim Group, one of the main private operators in the gas and water sector, have announced today an agreement according to which TXT will provide its products to optimise Italcogim s distribution network and “field services”.
Thumb The Italcogim Group has been for over 40 years the manager of methane and other fuels distribution service and is now the fourth industrial group of the sector in Italy. The Group, after diversifying its activities within the eco-management sector (where it is leader in household waste collection and in dump management), aims at expanding in the water sector, abroad (it is already present in Croatia) and in the multi-utility sector, that is in the thorough house management. The Italcogim Group has opted for TXT SC&CM software products in order to manage all distributed services through state-of-the-art technology and to achieve the top efficiency in helping customers. The implementation of the project will be carried out by Cap Gemini Ernest & Young, within a wider action undertaken jointly by the latter and the Italcogim Group, with the purpose of rationalizing territorial gas distribution. TXT will support CGEY in this project with its own specialists, thus strengthening the partnership established by the agreement signed by the two companies as of January 19th 2001. TXT SC&CM software products will cover all phases in the process of planning, programming and scheduling any intervention required by the end user. Moreover, the scheduling and control of Italcogim’s task force distributed on the territory will be supported and coordinated by TXT’s new SC&CM Mobile software. This important project adds to many others recently won by TXT in the sector of energy and water supply, as well as in waste disposal. The “multi-utility” sector presents all over Europe a market liberalization scenario with significant growth prospects for all companies showing competitive advantages. TXT has therefore created a complete vertical software solution for utilities, which stands out today as the reference solution in this sector. The Italcogim Group is present in Italy with gas distribution in 230 urban networks and in waste collection in 800 towns, thus serving 5.6 million inhabitants. 2000s turnover was 1000 billion with 3 thousands employees. The Fabiani family, owner of the group, is completing the company reorganization and is preparing for the Milan Stock Exchange. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young is one of the major global group in the sector of managerial consultancy and Information Technology. The company provides managerial and IT consultancy services as well as system integration skills, technology, design and outsourcing worldwide. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young has more than 58,000 consultants worldwide and a turnover of 7.7 billion Euro (1999proforma balance). In Italy, Cap Gemini Ernst&Young is present with over 2000 people and offices in Rome, Milan, Turin, Padua, Genoa, Bologna, Naples, La Spezia, Syracuse.
