Sibanye berichtet Rekordbetriebsgewinn für das Jahr

(US$ 717 Mio.). - Headline Earnings (nicht bereinigte Gewinne) von ZAR 2.5 Mrd. (US$ 169 Mio.) - dies entspricht einer Steigerung von 269% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. - Normalisierte Gewinne pro Aktie stiegen um 196% auf 397 Cent (ZAR) (27 US-Cent). - Gesamtdividende für das Jahr von 145 Cent (ZAR) pro Aktie. Dezember 2016. Dies entspricht einer Steigerung um 60% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Der Betriebsgewinn des Konzerns in Höhe von ZAR 5,1 Mrd. für die zweite Hälfte des Jahres 2016 war im Vergleich mit dem entsprechenden Zeitraum des Jahres 2015 um 29% höher, wobei die Goldbetriebe ZAR 4,8 Mrd. und die Platinbetriebe ZAR 304 Mio. beitrugen, einschließlich eines positiven Beitrags von ZAR 74 Mio. des Rustenburg-Betriebs im November und Dezember 2016. Sibanyes 50-%-Joint Venture in Mimosa, das auf anteiligem Eigenkapital basiert und folglich nicht im Betriebsgewinn eingeschlossen ist, trug einen weiteren Gewinn von ZAR 186 Mio. zum Konzern bei. Die normalisierten Gewinne stiegen im Vergleich mit dem entsprechenden Zeitraum des Jahres 2015 um 52% auf 163 Cent pro Aktie. Die normalisierten Gewinne von 397 Cent pro Aktie für das Geschäftsjahr 2016 lagen im Vergleich mit dem Vorjahr um 196% höher. Eine letzte Dividendenausschüttung von 60 Cent pro Aktie (ZAR 560 Mio.), die 37% der normalisierten Gewinne entspricht, wurde angekündigt. Damit erhöht sich die Gesamtdividende für das Jahr mit Ende 31. Dezember 2016 auf 145 Cents pro Aktie bzw. ZAR 1.345 Mio. Neal Froneman, CEO von Sibanye, äußerte sich zum Ergebnis: Es ist erfreulich, so solide Finanzergebnisse zu berichten und wieder in der Lage zu sein, eine branchenführende Dividende von über 5% an unsere Aktionäre auszuschütten. Der positive Beitrag der Platinbetriebe ist nennenswert. Aquarius läuft weiterhin gut und der Rustenburg-Betrieb zeigt einen soliden Umschwung und Rückkehr zur Rentabilität. Betriebsleistung Die Gesamtgoldproduktion von 23.805 kg (765.400 Unzen) der Goldbetriebe Sibanyes im Berichtszeitraum der sechs Monate mit Ende 31. Dezember 2016 war um ungefähr 7% niedriger als im entsprechenden Zeitraum des Jahres 2015. Der Hauptgrund dafür ist die Einstellung des Untertageabbaus in der Mine Cooke 4. Die geringere Produktion wirkte sich auf die Stückkosten aus, wobei die Die All-in Sustaining Costs (AISC) gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 10% auf ZAR 451.352 pro kg Gold (US$ 1.005/Unze Gold) stiegen. Die Platinbetriebe produzierten in den sechs Monaten mit Ende 31. Dezember 2016 327.990 Unzen PGM (Platin Group Metals, Metalle der Platingruppe) (4E). Die Betriebskosten der Platinbetriebe wurden gut gemanagt, was zu einer durchschnittlichen operativen Gewinnmarge von 11% führte. Der Umschwung in den Rustenburg-Betrieben war besonders erfreulich, da die Betriebsergebnisse im Einklang mit unseren Erwartungen standen, sagte Froneman. Für Vergleichszwecke war die Produktion der Rustenburg-Betriebe um 7% höher als im vorherigen Quartal und um 9% höher als im entsprechenden Quartal des Jahres 2015. Die Integration der Platinbetriebe wird fortgesetzt, wobei man erwartet, bis Jahresende ungefähr ZAR 400 Mio. an Synergien zu erzielen. Die Stillwater-Akquisition Hinsichtlich der geplanten Akquisition von Stillwater, die am 9. Dezember 2016 bekannt gegeben wurde, sagte Froneman: Die Akquisition dieses großen kostengünstigen PGM-Produzenten wird laut Erwartungen Sibanyes Vermögenswertbasis signifikant verbessern und einen global wettbewerbsfähigen südafrikanischen Bergbau-Champion ins Leben rufen. Durch das Projekt Blitz bieten Stillwaters kostengünstige, hochgradige Betriebe und Vorräte ein kurzfristiges organisches Wachstum. Die Transaktion wird Sibanyes Platinbetriebe attraktiv auf der globalen Kostenkurve positionieren, ist wertschöpfend und wird damit unsere Fähigkeit zum Erhalt branchenführender Dividenden verbessern. Am 3. Februar 2017 wurde ein Update zur Transaktion veröffentlicht, der darauf hinwies, dass eine Hauptversammlung zur Genehmigung der Transaktion Mitte April 2017 stattfinden wird.
