miniCASTER® now streams better even on poor internet connections
Von miniCASTER®
Las Vegas, Nevada, 16.04.2012 - miniCASTER® and ZiXi, today announced their cooperation to bring best first mile performance for live streaming. Without data correction, producers of live streaming have to accept bad audio and video quality even on high bandwith upstream connections. The announcement was made just before the NAB, which opens its gates from 15th-19thApril, 2012 in Las Vegas. From May 2012 on, every miniCASTER® will be shipped with the data correction technology from ZiXi. ZiXi's patented protocol prevents network congestion on the first mile, which results in poor video quality and latency. One of the many elements of the ZiXi protocol is video-aware ZiXi-FEC (Forward Error Correction).
This feature is especially important for delay-sensitive applications, such as field reporting, and sports, when there is a dialog between the reportef in the field and the studio. The pocket-sized live H.264 encoder will be shipped with a 90-day ZiXi license free of charge, which can be extended for a small monthly fee. miniCASTER® and ZiXi show their partners technology on their booth at ZiXi # SU11004 and miniCASTER® #SU11906i
