Nickel and cobalt are among the raw materials of the future

Von Swiss Resource Capital AG

Battery raw materials are essential for electromobility and are therefore in extremely high demand, also among investors.

Almost everywhere on earth, the development of electric mobility is picking up speed. In New Zealand, for example, the state-owned Post Office and the state-owned financial investor New Zealand Green Investment Finance are each investing 10 million New Zealand dollars to procure e-transporters. By 2025, the Post is planning to completely electrify its fleet there. Things are also happening in China. Sales of new energy vehicles reached a new high in November. 429,000 units were sold, following a record 368,000 units in October.

The term New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) is used by the Chinese government to refer to electric vehicles eligible for public subsidies and includes battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). As of November, NEVs now accounted for 20.8 percent of the total passenger car market in China. Especially since May, registration numbers have been steadily increasing. In the U.S., electric bikes are one of the ways people are trying to combat climate change. The Build Back Better bill, for example, can save up to 900 US dollars on the purchase of an e-bike. A fully refundable tax credit of 30 percent sweetens the purchase of certain e-bikes for Americans. And that's how the low-carbon transportation option can replace some car trips.

This progress in terms of e-mobility succeeds with battery raw materials. Mawson Gold and the Canada Nickel Company, for example, have these in their projects.

Mawson Gold - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi1uEfDSBcA - has the sought-after cobalt and gold in its Rajapalot project in Finland. In addition, there are gold projects and holdings in the company's portfolio.

Canada Nickel Company's - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn34_eaHC3E - flagship project is the Crawford Nickel-Cobalt Project in Ontario.
