System/ Vehicle Tester

About the role:

The System/  Vehicle Tester applies the principles of software and integration testing to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software and systems to fulfil the stakeholder requirements.
He/She performs software test design assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness and design experience and provides advice and guidance to other engineers or designers.
The software/integration test will be performed on a test rack in the lab or on a vehicle. The job includes writing the test specifications, carry out the tests and create a test report.

Your responsabilities 

•    Carry out testing to ascertain its behaviour and performance compared to the corresponding requirements specification. The tester ensures that the behaviour and performance of the software and systems corresponds with requirements of the design project
•    Examine and judge whether the output of a specific development phase fulfils respective requirements, mostly document reviews. The verifier ensures proper documentation during all project phases.

 •   BSc degree, MA graduate or many years of professional experience in rail vehicle technology with focus on software testing, system testing and commissioning of various components.
•    Working according to test protocols and creating technical documentation, performing independent troubleshooting.  
•    Support of the engineering during type testing and software tests, assistance during customer acceptance tests.
•    Typically, minimum 4 years of relevant work experience 
•    System/Software Engineering Mindset
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to understand interactions within complex systems, writing and synthesis ability, curiosity and constructive spirit 
•    Autonomy, responsiveness and good adaptability
•    Computer skills: Office, Linux Knowledge desired
•    Good interpretation of Electrical drawings
•    Fluent in English, German language is desired
