Partnership creates a bridge between Europe and the Middle East

Monaco and Châtillon; May 6, 2004- MAP Telecom, supplier of interactive multimedia services and Voxpilot, provider of carrier-class VoiceXML solutions for fixed and mobile operators, enterprises and service providers, have signed a distribution agreement to bring VoiceXML technology and value-added services from Europe to the Middle East and vice versa.

The contract was kicked off by a major order (more than 1000 ports) for Voxpilot’s VoiceXML Outsourcing Solution by a large Middle Eastern carrier. Thanks to Voxpilot’s unique solution, the telco is able to provision value-added VoiceXML services to end-customers in the Middle East, generating revenue streams by aggregating third-party applications and mass market voice services. VoiceXML is a new standard for creating telephony applications, making it easy for call centres, carriers and service providers to quickly and cost-effectively bring interactive voice services to market.

“We are extremely pleased that we have been able to bring cutting-edge VoiceXML technology to the Middle East” said François-Xavier Despret, CEO of MAP Telecom. “The customer has clearly recognised that VoiceXML is able to differentiate their business and cement their leadership in the telecommunication market. MAP has chosen Voxpilot’s solution for this project because Voxpilot’s VoiceXML browser is one of the few truly compliant VoiceXML browsers in the market today, having passed more than 600 tests set out by the VoiceXML Forum’s compliance regime.”

“Voxpilot has signed a distribution agreement with MAP Telecom to further VoiceXML value-added services in this important region. MAP Telecom is a pioneering enabler, lowering the barrier to entry for customers who want to deploy voice and multi-media services without large up-front investments.” added Laurent Bouquet des Chaux, CEO of Voxpilot.” Our recent order confirms that our joint strategy is working, as more and more carriers around the world recognise the benefits of Voxpilot VoiceXML Outsourcing Solution.”

Voxpilot and MAP Telecom are already co-operating on supplying VSP services to customers in Europe and North America, VoiceXML training (Passport VoiceXML) and VUI Producer (voice user interface design). MAP is the control centre for Voxpilot’s rapidly expanding VSP network, and hosts Voxpilot’s Online Development Environment (ODE).
