Wind lässt nun über 20 Millionen Mailboxen vom Messaging-Spezialisten verwalten

Italiens größter ISP baut Zusammenarbeit mit Critical Path aus

Critical Path, Anbieter von Internet-Kommunikationslösungen, hat seine Messaging-Lösung beim italienischen Internet Service Provider (ISP) Wind ausgebaut. Künftig werden bis zu 20 Millionen Mailboxen und Benutzerprofile auf Basis der Messaging-Lösung von Critical Path verwaltet. Darüber hinaus hat der größte italienische ISP 20 Millionen Directory-Lizenzen zur Verwaltung von Benutzeridentitäten erworben.
Thumb Seit über drei Jahren setzt Wind die Messaging-Software von Critical Path ein. Stetig wachsende Benutzerzahlen machten den Ausbau des Systems notwendig. Damit einher ging der Bedarf nach Optimierung der Leistung, Senkung der Gesamtbetriebskosten sowie dem Angebot hochwertiger Kommunikationsdienste. Die neue Vereinbarung ermöglicht eine vollständige Migration der von it.Net, dem Internet-Anbieter von Wind, genutzten Messaging-Plattform zum Messaging-Server von Critical Path. Wind-Kunden profitieren nun von den Vorzügen und der Flexibilität von IMAP4 sowie von der Möglichkeit des Webzugriffs auf E-Mail. Als zentrale Datenbank nutzt Wind den Directory-Server von Critical Path. Auf diese Weise wird die Verteilung und Administration von Benutzerprofilen sowie Sicherheits-Applikationen innerhalb eines weit verzweigten Unternehmensverbundes erleichtert. Das Lösungspaket beinhaltet außerdem ein spezielles Directory-Schema-Management, welches die Abstimmung mit Sicherheitslösungen aller relevanten Anbieter unterstützt. Der Directory-Server von Critical Path ist in der Lage, mehrere Millionen Einträge zu bearbeiten und dabei gleichzeitig Hunderte von Anfragen pro Sekunde mit einer Reaktionszeit von unter einer Sekunde zu beantworten.
