Compact Print Appliance With More User-friendly Web Interface Now Supports IPv6 and Gigabit

Bielefeld, Germany (June 17, 2010). – SEH, the German specialist for network solutions, announces that its ISD300 Print Appliance-Series includes many new future-oriented features. ISD300 and ISD300-PoE (with Power-over-Ethernet technology) now support the fast Gigabit standard and the new network protocol IPv6. Due to the imminent IP address shortage and government and industrial requirements IPv6 is spreading out fast. In addition to these cutting-edge technologies all ISD300 models are equipped with a new web-based user interface for easy and transparent configuration and administration.

The specialized ISD300 appliances are more stable than complex server architectures. When the complete network printing services are outsourced from general servers to the specialized ISD300, network printing services are highly available at all times. Secure backups and fast reboots also ensure the availability of these services. The new web-based user interface, ISD Control Center, simplifies configuration and allows for transparent and efficient administration of the print appliances via browser.

Ready for the Future with Gigabit and IPv6
SEH ISD300 appliances are now compatible with all Ethernet standards. The integration of the fast Gigabit standard enables connected network printers to benefit from faster data transmission in Gigabit networks.
The support of IPv6, which is continuously being adopted, is another future-proof feature. During migration to IPv6 this is an advantage as it allows the seamless connection of printers to IPv6-based networks simultaneously. ISD300 appliances support the most important printing protocols for IPv6 networks, such as LPD/LPR (Line Printer Daemon/Line Printer Remote), IPP v1.1 (Internet Printing Protocol), and socket printing as well as common applications such as HTTP and HTTPs.

Scalable Print Spool Solutions for All Networks
Two ISD product lines offer scalable network spooling solutions for every network printing environment. ISD300 and ISD300-PoE are compact appliances for small and medium networks (workgroups, small branch offices etc.) and for operation outside of the server rack. The larger ISD400 and ISD410 (with RAID system) are full-blown enterprise solutions which can process about 150 users and 450 network printers. All ISD models offer a great number of fields of application and can be operated as ThinPrint Gateways in environments running the ThinPrint .print print management solution. Comprehensive warranty, free technical support, and optional service packages are available with all ISD models.
