Power Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)

Our product range includes frequency inverter drives, servo drives, servo motors, linear actuators, mechatronic systems, textile machines and mobile inverters and motors.

The position of Power Electronics Engineer (m/f/d) is necessary to grow and strengthen our R&D team designing our next range of mobile and industrial inverter drive products.

Your tasks:

• Research of latest technology for our product and technology roadmaps
• Supporting ‘voice of customer’ interviews and specification of products
• Leads design & implementation of power electronic aspects within our range of industrial, servo and mobile drives (SMPS, inverter power section, STO) to international standards
• Verifies and validates designs
• Works to stage gate process under out ISO9001/IATF16969 quality system
• Designs for AC supplies (to 480V) and DC (to 1000V) products
• Occasional customer visits to identify ‘voice of customer’ (Blue printer tool), and supporting sales of product (engineer to engineer)
• Occasional visits to other Parker locations in other countries
• Investigating of reported customer issues with quality of our products

Your profile:

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or scientific discipline
• Experience from:
  •         DC/DC, AC/DC Converter design
  •         Power Electronics circuit design using IGBTs/Thyristors/MOSFETs
  •         power electronic design & layout for up to 480V AC supplies, 1000V DC supplies          and power levels in the range 0.37kW to 500KW
  •         thermal performance calculation
  •         thermal and circuit modelling and simulation
  •         EMC & Safety compliance
  •         Environmental design (RoSH, WEEE)
  •         Functional safety design (eg STO)
• Open minded, solution driven, highly motivated engineer (m/f/d)
• Positive attitude and drive for results
• Good English & German language knowledge, teamwork and communication skills as well as strong analytical thinking and the affinity for practical laboratory work complement your profile
