We are now looking for a

PROJECT ENGINEER (m/f/d)

to join our energetic, ambitious and enthusiastic team working on electric propulsion drive systems for a more sustainable future.

The position is a permanent role and preferred location for the position is in Hamburg Behringstraße, Germany. 

As a PROJECT ENGINEER for electric propulsion drives your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Product-relevant project management according to existing specifications
• Development and implementation of project-specific technical solutions
• Support of the project manager in all aspects
• Customer / supplier contact
• Preparation of technical specifications for suppliers
• Clarification of functionalities and interfaces between internal and external components / systems
• Creation of documents (e.g. approval drawings, installation and planning instructions, final documentation)
• Assignment and coordination of, among others, development (software clarification), design (drawing creation), purchasing, shipping, commissioning
• Participation in FAT (internal and at suppliers) with class and customer
• Accompaniment of the commissioning if necessary on site and abroad, participation in SAT
• Technical support and processing of warranty claims

Furthermore, you will work on:

• Training of commissioning staff and customers on the product
• Independent work in the test field/laboratory and during commissioning
• Interaction, networking within Wärtsilä
• Standardisation and process optimisation

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

• Preferably you hold a Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant area (electrical engineering), or equivalent
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, but also newcomers or young professionals are welcome
• System knowledge, especially of electric propulsion drives systems and its main components like generator, switchboard, transformer, frequency converter and electric motors
• German and English language (written and spoken)
• Structured and practical way of working with hands-on attitude
• Good skills in MS office tools and preferably also SAP
