Electrical Engineer (m/w/d) (Gelsenkirchen)

As Electronic engineer, you will utilize your technical knowledge and professional experience to support the delivery of High Precision Directional Drilling technologies to our customers.  Acting under the guidance of the NOV-Smart Drilling Engineering Manager, the role requires technical solutions and detail designing of products throughout all phases of a project lifecycle from proposals to completion. A clear understanding of the commercial implications of engineering decision making, attention to detail, ability to lead and work effectively with other team members, a keen focus on delivery and the ability to turn fast paced, client-driven requirements into profitable solutions are all critical to success in this role.  You will support engineers as you work to complete deliverables for the purpose of quoting, designing and satisfying customer requirements, acting as the focal point for technical matters on specific projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply Electrical Engineering Knowledge & General Engineering Principles in design & engineering
• Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customized customer-centric designs
• Carry out Engineering Design, Analysis, Testing & Validation as required
• Produce and check Electrical engineering documentation deliverables through quick and accurate engineering analyzes (technical specifications etc.)
• Analyze system performance during and after field use
• Ensure all deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements
• Identify and assess compliance with / application of relevant Industry Standards & Certification
• Ensure timely and thorough review of client specifications and communication of findings
• Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion
• Keep abreast of engineering developments, trends, equipment and processes and advise Line Manager if these could be applied to improve current work practices, equipment, products etc.
• Ensure that any design changes which may have a cost or schedule impact are communicated to the relevant personnel
• Reduce cost of products through design innovation and existing product redesign

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS Degree in Electrical Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics (Essential)

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in concept development, circuit design and circuit build.
• Experience in the development, assembly and commissioning of electronic components
• Experience in handling data transfer interfaces (e.g. serial synchronous and asynchronous interfaces RS232/422/485)
• Experience in the integration of sensors in embedded systems
• Basic experience with Software development and programming
• Experience with Microsoft Office products or similar

TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, OR SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Experience with Inventor Harness Tool or similar
• Experience with PCB layout programs
• Experience with elementary correlations in magnetic navigation
• Experience with Rotary Steerable Systems
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems
