Experienced Engineer High Voltage Interference

Local Unit & Position Description

DNV  - Energy Systems' “Asset Management” department is seeking an engineer for Asset Management team, deliver services in the areas of high voltage interference, electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic compatibility and earthing and lightning protection systems. We are a team of 7 Engineers with a mix of highly motivated career beginners and very experienced senior engineers guiding our young colleagues and transfering their knowledge. The team supports network operators, equipment manufacturers, power companies and utilities to improve and optimize operations, to ensure a high level of human security and to increase the life time of equipment. To ensure quality assurance before commissioning and during the long-term operating phase, our employees analyze, calculate, measure and verify the electrical equipment and verify that customer systems meet all normative and regulatory requirements.

This position will be based in our Dresden office.

Your tasks include:

  • Check / measure high voltage influences
  • Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Calculations in the area of high voltage influence and EMF 
  • Software development using python
  • Customer management, business development activities


Position Qualifications

  • Degree as Master or Diploma with electro technical backround or similar
  • Experience with EMF and high voltage interference
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD application desirable (but not necessary)
  • Python Programming skills
  • Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel and Word)
  • Willingness to work on site in the field and substation
  • Experience in software applications like modeling and calculation (example XGSLab and Winfield)
  • Driving license class B
  • Perfect German language is essential
  • Engaged and open for new and challenging tasks
  • Team player able to work independently and take responsibility
