Project Engineer / Mechanical Engineer

The chosen candidate will be assigned in DNV as part of Equipment & Components team within Business Area Energy Systems. This team is part of the section Equipment & Components which consists of teams in Hamburg, Esbjerg, Bergen and Stavanger. The chosen candidate will be working in Hamburg, Germany, and will report to a local Team Leader.

The person will be mainly involved in:

• Technical and commercial project management and execution
• Preparation of proposals and variation orders
• Review of design documentation, calculations and plans as well as site inspections for e.g. bridges, cranes, locks and weir closures
• Design-, construction and test assessment of crane systems (onshore and offshore)
• Monitoring of manufacturers and construction activities
• Acceptance and functional tests
• Condition assessment of technical components and components
• Review of conversion and repair measures as well as conducting damage analyses
• Application of the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Industrial Safety Ordinance and the relevant DGUV regulations

• Engineering degree in the field of mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, ship/plant operation technology or comparable qualification

• Fluent, Very good German and English skills, both verbal and written

• Welding engineer qualification would be a benefit
• Experience with corrosion protection and coating systems would be an advantage
• Several years of experience in project management for the above-looking areas

• Good knowledge of application of European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Industrial Safety Ordinance and the relevant DGUV regulations

• Independent and self-reliant way of working

• Willingness for domestic and international business trips

• Willingness for offshore activities

• Confident appearance towards internal and external customers

• Ability to work in a team and flexibility

• High degree of communication and conflict skills
