We are looking for a Senior Kubernetes Engineer (f/m/d) to join our E.ON Digital Technology GmbH team. The role can be filled at any EDT-site within Germany.
Tasks
You design and develop a cloud-based Container as a Service (CaaS) platform as a groupwide service
You collaborate closely with solution architects to design state-of-the-art distributed systems with Kubernetes enabled solutions
You drive state of the art cloud and container architectures for product development teams
You improve Continuous Deployment and Integration (CI/CD) to automate high availability release methods
You provide mentorship, trainings and support for developers on cloud and containerized development
You carry out standard methodologies, processes and tools to ensure compliance to enterprise architecture, global information security policies and engineering strategy
You design a secure application-release automation process to make security an integral part of the operations
Qualifications
Several years of experience in Kubernetes constructs like POD lifecycle, Node Management, Persistence Volume, Ingress Controllers, Helm or Ingress
Experience with new Kubernetes releases in order to quickly perform impact analysis on existing workload
Working experience on common Linux admin systems like IP Tables, Routing, Bash Scripting and monitoring of Linux User Space
Good knowledge on ancillary services on top of Kubernetes like Observability, Service Mesh, External DNS or Secret Management
Practical experience building, deploying and monitoring containers and container orchestrators in Azure, AWS and/or GCP
Deep understanding of standard DevOps tools such as Gitlab, SonarQube, Sentry, Artifactory, Fortify or Aqua Security
Openness to new topics and challenges combined with out-of-the-box thinking
Independent and self-responsible way of working paired with the ability to work in a team
Strong communication and presentation skills
High degree of energy drive and enthusiasm
Fluent in English and German
