Project Manager

Worley have exciting opportunities for Project Managers to join the business across several programmes and projects in Cologne. Due to new project wins and contract extensions, we are looking for the best leaders in the market to join us.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

• Support in preparing the offers;
• Project management for projects for international customers including management of the project teams;
• (Technical) feasibility assessment of customer inquiries taking into account customer expectations (“Management of Expectations”);
• Calculation and estimation of costs, preparation of offers and services as well as the monitoring and control of the project budget;
• Overall responsibility for the execution of projects in compliance with the company's project execution and quality guidelines;
• Role model in all HSE issues;
• Leading and inspiring multidisciplinary project teams;
• Building and maintaining customer relationships with integrity;
• Responsible for compliance with quality requirements, deadlines and costs in the project;
• Carrying out risk analyses, defining and implementing corrective measures;
• Active change/claim management;
• Regular reporting regarding project status both internally and externally to the customer.

The person we are looking for:

• Possess leadership qualities and an action orientated mindset with the ability to makedecisions in a timely manner;
• Entrepreneurial, structured and responsible thinking combined with a very high level of customer orientation;
• Strong personality with excellent team skills, persuasiveness, and assertiveness;
• High resilience, flexibility and mobility;
• Strong commercial acumen with a successful business development track record;
• Client centric, solutions focused with proven ability to build and develop senior relationships;
• Skilled communicator with the ability to liaise with client and contractors in a professional manner;
• Have the ability to clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, set clear objectives and measure and monitor success, progress and results;
• Strong English speaking and written language skills are a must, German is preferred but not essential. 

Due to the nature of our projects, we need leaders who can be based in Germany. We will support you with relocation. You can work from home, but we need you to be present in the office 2 days a week at least. 

The experience we are looking for:

• A degree in engineering, preferably with a focus on plant and process engineering, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering;
• 10 years of industry experience, you will have carried out a similar role for around 5 years;
• You will have successful lead projects with values from $25 million - $50 million;
• Your industry experience will be within chemicals, petrochemicals, and refinery. We will also consider candidates from the power industry;
• Experience in management of plant planning (multidisciplinary engineering - interface management);
• Good knowledge of scheduling (Primavera / MS Projects);
• Experience with workshare/split desired;
• Very good knowledge of using MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
